Job Family

Provides assigned receptionist and general office services and/or ministry support for staff and membership.

Purpose of Job

The receptionist manages the morning weekday operations of the reception desk by routing calls to the appropriate staff and dispensing current information on PCPC activities. Assists all visitors, delivery people, building management staff and building maintenance personnel.

Individual Job Responsibilities

  • Handle all incoming calls and operate the switch board in a professional manner, directing calls to the appropriate location
  • Greet visitors in a courteous and helpful manner, answering their questions and directing them to the appropriate staff or ministry
  • Effectively communicate a pleasant demeanor at the receptionist desk with members, employees, and visitors
  • Be aware of special members/employee circumstances (i.e., hospital stays, memorial services, etc.) and communicate with Pastoral Care office when needed
  • Receive and sign for deliveries; route to the correct location
  • Keep reception area and mail room clean and organized
  • Field phone calls and provide information regarding Good Sam requests
  • Coordinate schedules with afternoon receptionist or substitutes to ensure the front desk is covered
  • Contribute to team effectiveness with positive attitude and servant’s heart

Education and Experienced Required

High school graduate or GED and at least two years work experience in a large office environment with basic computer experience.

Job Complexity

  • Work requires detail orientation, accuracy, and timeliness
